Arrogant people are usually the most childish, incompetent, lazy, corrupt, and irresponsible people worldwide.
However, that is precisely what is going on with our parent's generation (born in the 1950s and 1960s.) They are the generation with an unusually high ratio of arrogant people. Many of them even got what this article would refer to as a "Messiah Complex" where they fancy themselves to be a Messiah. It is like a crazy person that hear voices in his head, thinking everybody in a shopping mall is vampires, and he is here to save the day by blowing it up!
Arrogant people are usually overconfident in their ability. For example, when George W Bush Junior was President, he won't listen to experts' advice on the Middle Eastern issue and replace them with a bunch of head-nodding yes man, despite his lack of understanding of the region. It created multiple terrible policies, even though President Bush was a former officer in the US Army and let his administration get entrapped in an increasingly unpopular war in the Middle East. At the same time, back home US economy went straight to be the crapper, with even many Americans joking, "The US will remain as the most powerful nation, for a few more years." indicating the idea that America's time is coming to an end. (for example, on the Simpsons)
Arrogant people are usually lazy and won't be willing to learn new skills when needed due to overconfidence in their ability. (For example, as we see in former President George W Bush, Junior) and that overconfidence encouraged them to be stubborn, irrational, and unreasonable. Something famous TV psychologist Dr. Phil refers to as Fix believe.
However, those who got a fixed belief for Trump to be a racist only chose to see what they want to see and actively push for a narrative in favor of the idea that he is a racist.
In the art of propaganda study, this is called Selective Representation and Response Shaping Process. Selective Representation is a situation where you only select specific things to be represented and neglect the rest to work in favor of a particular narrative. For example, an attempted rapist is driven off by the girl's father with a baseball bat, went to the cops, and only told the cops that a man assaulted him with a weapon and said no more. He is misleading the police to think it is a case of physical assault, while in reality, what the father did constitutes self-defense.
Take the following statement "Jane and Tim got married. Tim is a soldier and is deployed to Afghanistan. Three months after Tim's deployment to Afghanistan. Jane started seen Mike, and every night, Mike spent the night sleeping over at Jane and Tim's house that Tim bought and is paying for the mortgage while Jane doesn't work. All of these happening, while Jane and Tim are still married."
This statement makes it seem as if Jane is having an affair with Mike. But this is the whole story. Jane and Tim got married. Tim is a soldier and is deployed to Afghanistan. Three months after Tim's deployment to Afghanistan, Jane gave birth to her and Tim's firstborn child, named Mike, after Tim's father. So, Jane and Mike spend all their time together, as the mother Jane needs to care for their baby, and naturally, Mike sleeps in her and Tim's room every night. And because of having to be a full-time mom, Jane quit her job. The fact is the term "He/She is seen somebody" can mean a lot of things, usually refer to as having a romantic affair, but isn't the default definition. Thus, the fact that Jane is spending time with her baby son also qualifies the description of "seen somebody." Therefore, only selecting certain information to be represented and neglected the rest easily mislead people to a distorted view.
Response Shaping Process is a situation where you persuade people to a distorted view while presenting them with a limited or no understanding of the problem. Famous TV psychologist Dr. Phil explains in his book that when a person has little or no knowledge of a situation, you don't have the fact to contradict what you are persuaded to believe in. Thus, making you easily manipulated.
Fix Believer is pushing for the narrative in coalition with their pre-set beliefs, looking for examples and constructing opinions that can be used in favor of their pre-set views, and evaluating everything in collaboration with it. These people actively conduct Selective Representation towards themselves, only seeking examples and opinions they can use in favor of their distorted view and neglect the rest. They actively run the Response Shaping Process towards themselves, persuading themselves to a distorted view and seeking an excuse to reject facts that contradict the belief and form opinions in favor of their distorted belief.
For example, if the Fix Believer thinks Jack is a rapist who raped Lisa, the Fix Believer will actively seek anything that can be used to favor the idea that Jack rape Lisa to reinforce his belief. Even the idea that Jack is not gay will be used in the Fix Believer's favor for argument. While contradicting information such as Jack live in Huston his entire life and never been to New York. Lisa live in New York her whole life and never been to Huston, would be ignored, and they might form opinion such as saying, "This information is wrong" to continue believing Jack rape, Lisa.
In the vise versa, if the Fix Believer thinks Susan is lying about Tim raping her, he will actively seek anything that can use in favor of the idea that Susan is a liar and dismiss all others. For example, suppose there is a video of Tim raping Susan. In that case, he will actively dismiss it, saying, "They are shooting porn." At the same time, he will look for anything favoring the idea that Susan must be lying, for example, accusing Susan of stalking Tim and when Tim start dating another girl, she grew angry and lies about rape and based the whole theory on nothing but the fact that Susan and Tim been on one blind date.
One of the best examples is the relationship between US President Donald Trump and some liberal extremists who believe that President Trump is the symbol of American racism. And the current US mainstream media that favor this narrative.
Within the last four years, many people who don't have a fixed belief for Trump to be a racist and have been gaining news sources from various reports increasingly change their minds from thinking Trump was a racist four years ago. And believe President Trump did more for the African American community than the Democrats labeling Trump as a racist right now. They change their view by observing many things that President Trump has been doing for the last four years.
Thus, fix believers evaluate everything in a manner in coalition with their pre-existing set belief, looking for examples and constructing opinions in favor of it and ignoring all else, not excluding taking things out of context.
As a human, we don't respond to a situation, but our evaluation of the case. The data enter our brain via our five senses, and our brain evaluates it, and that is what we respond to. For example, if somebody is trying to be friendly to you, but you think he/she is threatening you, you will act as if he/she is threatening you. Thus, fix believers will always work following what their pre-set believe. If their pre-set belief is that you are a racist, they will act as if you are a racist, no matter what you do. If their pre-set opinion is you are stalking them, they will work as if you are stalking them, even if you don't even know they are alive and give them no reason to think you are stalking them. They will look for excuses to say and think you are a racist or are stalking them, might even go as far as constructing a situation, so they can have a reason to believe you are a racist or stalking them and ignore all contradicting evidence.
Thus, fix believers are usually unreasonable and irrational, and many of them are very angry. They are mad at imaginary things that only exist in their imagination and not in real life and frequently becomes a burden to society.
Arrogant people are stubborn (fix believers) due to their overconfidence in their ability. Stubborn people (fix believers) are unreasonable and irrational. And the reality is our parent's generation got an unusually high ratio of arrogant people.
As a defense mechanism for their arrogance, most Baby Boomers provided a distorted interpretation of the concept of "Wisdom Comes with Age." However, such an idea is only applicable when they are the older generation. Concerning those from our grand parent's generation, the older generation concerning Baby Boomers, such concept of "Wisdom Comes with Age" is no longer applicable. And concerning other Baby Boomer, such image of "Wisdom Comes with Age" is only relevant to himself/herself, but not the other Baby Boomer.
The idea regarding how "Wisdom Comes with Age" works is that as we get older, we can study, train, conduct research, practice, and have more experience.
Our parent's generation would argue that the idea of "Wisdom Comes with Age" is after a certain age. You automatically got unlimited experience points and have been an expert on all topics. Some argued it is something they automatically gain via been old. Others claim it is due to having a lot of life experiences. However, both of these theories are wrong.
How wisdom comes with age work is similar to computer games. Your Champion, every time he/she won a fight, they get experience point, and that makes them tougher and harder to kill. However, regardless of how much experience, you can't possibly get unlimited experience points. When I was 19 (that was 15 years ago), a radio psychologist told a story where she was talking to an old lady saying what she was like before growing up. The old lady laughed and said, "I am over 75 years old, and I am still growing up." And that is the thing, growing older and having more life experience allows you to gain more experience points, but not unlimited experience points.
Furthermore, unlike in computer games, in real life, some people excel in a task after only practicing three times, while others practice ten times and still can't do it right and to such extend everybody got different strong suits.
Also, in real life, sometimes the experience can be counterproductive. This is because a great deal of learning from experience is about learning from your evaluation of pre-existing information. Thus, if you evaluate that information incorrectly, the experience can be counterproductive to growth.
A big part of learning through experience is learning through your mistake. Overconfident people can so stubbornly think they can't be wrong; it means when they are wrong, their fixed belief encouraged them to think, it is not their fault, it is other people's fault. Thus, they are not going to learn from their mistake. Sometimes when a project is successful, it can be possible that party A screwed up big time, but party B, C, and D saved the project. But if party A is such an arrogant person who thinks he/she can't be wrong, he is more likely to continue to believe that he did no wrong, and it is party B, C, D that are wrong. Thus, overconfident people are more likely to be a credit hog, even when it contributes nothing to the success and for the whole time been nothing but a burden. And tend to blame everybody else for the failure, even when he/she is 110% at fault. It is as if they can walk into a building and set it on fire and think it is everybody else's fault because they didn't make sure everything in the building is inflammable before he/she entered.
Furthermore, as in computer games, not all things can be learned via experience. In some games, the player might need to use gold to unlock specific skillsets for their Champion. The same applies to real life. Specific skills cannot be learned via experience or practice; they can only be learned via education, training, or research.
But once again, real life is more complicated compare to computer games. For example, two students receiving the same education from the same university with the same teacher and study in the same equally efficient method will still get different results. Also, some education systems are way more successful compare to others. For example, many people think the reason for Asian students to be more academically accomplished is that Asian kids are smarter and/or Asian parents push their kids harder. However, it is entirely unrelated. Instead, it is due to Asia's primary education. For example, in Asian primary school, they incorporated many military discipline system into schooling, especially primary school. In the west, this usually only exist in military school. When I was still in primary school, I hate having to drill like soldiers every day. Even professional soldiers, some admit, they hate drilling. However, while talking to western teachers, you grow an appreciation for that system. Some western teachers said the issue with schooling is that there are not enough teachers to control the kids, and you ended up spending more time keeping your classroom in control instead of teaching. Yet, in an Asian school, a typical class can have well over 40 kids. In western primary school, in Australia, for example, a class usually only got half the number of students.
Thus, in Asian schools, kids can progress at a much faster speed. Many things that western school doesn't teach till middle school sometimes even high school, in Asian school, kids already completed and familiarize themselves with those studies by the sixth grade. As a result, when those Asian kids come to the west, school is very easy for them. So, when they come to the west, they are all straight-A students, despite back in Asia, they might be straight-F students. In Asia, the school follows a system. Each period is 50 minutes and a 10 minutes break in between. For example, in western schools, in Australia, despite shorter school hours, except for lunchtime and a 10 minutes morning tea recess, a single period can last hours. Even adults might struggle to maintain concentration that lasts for hours, let alone a child.
Flawed research methodology can also be counterproductive. An inefficient training method can also lead to ineffective results. For example, China's martial artists today keeping getting their ass kick in the ring, and that is due to modern China, lack of sparring as a part of their training. This is due to the Moa era; Moa disallows civilian schools to train for combat, fearing civilian militia formed to overthrow communist rule. Thus, most martial art school only prepare for health, and it is only in recent years, some younger martial artists are trying to bring sparring back into the training regime.
Thus, how the concept of wisdom comes with age work is that by been older, it allows you to have more opportunity to conduct more studies, training, research, and practice and allow you the opportunity to gain more experiences. However, if you are not using those time to study, train, conduct research, practice, or gain more experience, the term "wisdom comes with age" will not apply to you. And if you are a failing student in your studying, training, or research, you will not learn. If your studying, training, or research methodology is flawed, it can be counterproductive. If you require more practice to master a skill, you need a lot more practice. If you evaluate the information incorrectly, you are not going to learn through your experience. And suppose you don't go out and gain those experiences. In that case, you will not have those experience points, much like a high school English teacher with twenty years of experience might have twenty experience points in arenas relevant to teaching. But they can't translate those experiences to an irrelevant arena, such as martial art or fixing a car.
Our parents' generation's interpretation of the concept "Wisdom Comes with Age" is flawed and reality simply doesn't work this way.
Because arrogant people are overconfident in their ability, arrogance encourages them to be lazy when they need to learn new skills or conduct additional training or require further experience. And in terms of experience, they are more likely to misinterpret the information because they are less inclined to think they are wrong and blame other people for their mistakes. They are also credit hogs that hog other people's credit, even when their approach is a complete disaster. It is others that saved the project.
Thus, arrogant people are more inclined to be childish and incompetent, and more often than less, what happens is, maybe in the beginning, the arrogant person is a lot wiser. But due to their arrogance, they are not improving themselves. In contrast, a person with less wisdom continues to be keen on studying. As a result, the person with less knowledge starts to catch up to the arrogant person and surpass the arrogant person. And it is exactly what we are seen among our parents' generation.
While comparing our parents' generation vs. our grandparents' generation, our grandparents' generation got a significantly lower rate of arrogant people. As a result, the average wisdom level of a person in their 50s and 60s drop dramatically after our grandparents' generation moved into their 70s, 80s, and 90s. Our parents' generation replaces them as the new people age in their 50s and 60s.
To add to the insult, we also see the majority of the younger generation born after the 70s, increasingly catching up to the majority of people from our parents' generation in terms of wisdom, till now, many are of equal standard, and some already surpassed them.
Thus, arrogant people tend to be more incompetent and childish than the level of competence and maturity somebody their age is supposed to have. However, due to their arrogance, arrogant people remain overconfident while facing issues they are incompetent. They likely refused to conduct the study to solve the problem, even when presented with such opportunities, such as having an advisory team advise them on the matter, such as when President Bush marginalized middle eastern experts. In other words, they are lazy to conduct needed studying, training, research, or practice when required.
Thus, arrogant people are more likely to be lazy, stubborn, childish, incompetent, irrational, and unreasonable.
Furthermore, arrogant people are also more likely to be corrupt and irresponsible.
This is due to arrogant people are less inclined to think they can do anything wrong, and when that arrogance becomes a sense of fixed belief, they always think they are right. It is like said earlier. They can walk into a building, accidentally set it on fire, and believe it is everybody else's fault because other people didn't make sure, everything in the building is inflammable before he/she enters. People like this frequently play double standard. Thus, for example, if he/she accidentally cooked beef that is over the expiration date and got everybody sick, as a result, he/she would say it is your fault. Because you didn't make sure, the beef he/she cooks, not yet expired. But, if you accidentally cooked beef over the expiration date, they will naturally say it is your fault because you didn't make sure the beef you cook, not yet expire. Thus, double standard. The purpose of such is to serve their pre-existing fixed belief, that it is always somebody else's fault.
And when a person is arrogant to such a nature, they can be easily corrupted because they will never see it as their fault. In their view, he/she is always right. Thus, they are never at fault. Therefore, when other people take a bribe, that is corruption, but when he/she take a bribe, it is suddenly OK and did nothing wrong. Thus, more often than less, these people might be furious as ordinary civilians watching political corruption. But, once they become a politician, they are one of the first to turn corrupt.
Arrogant people are also the most irresponsible. Thinking it is always somebody else's fault also allow these people a reason and excuse to be irresponsible. Because, if it is somebody else's fault, there is no need for me to be responsible for it. This can be very dangerous. For example, you send your two years old to a nanny, and then the child died due to the nanny's negligence. Yet, the nanny thinks she did no wrong, saying it is your fault because you, the parents, are the one that chooses to hire a nanny instead of taking care of the child yourself, and the nanny is in no way at fault. Mindsets of such nature allow arrogant people to be irresponsible and reckless, considering they can always blame other people for their mistake and think they are in no way at fault. We frequently see this behavior among political leaders, ever since our grand parent's generation retired and our parents' generation took over as world leaders. One good example is how many Democrat city mayor in the US allow BLM rioters and looters to continue to riot and loot their city hoping that it would allow the Democrat to win the radical left's votes. It is both corrupt and irresponsible, all roll into one.
"They are corrupt and they are irresponsible they are the...Baby Boomers..." this funny idea of a movie line just popped into my head and I can't help writing it down, lol.
Furthermore, arrogant people are also more likely to be very angry people. This is due to a great variety of reasons.
Imagine the following situation. An architectural firm hired a 50 years old architect as the project manager to build a series of new condos. Usually, before construction or doing anything, you need to check with the local government to know their building code. But, this architect is one of those arrogant people. He felt confident in understanding what the building code must be like, without checking it, and cannot be bothered to check it as a result. This might work in some other city that he performed, but his assumption is wrong in this city, and his building design is not up to code.
A young architect in the firm went down to the city planning office to ask for a copy of the code in his spare time and discover the project is not up to code and it will cost the firm a lot of money. Hoping this would give him recognition for his hard work and dedication, he informs the project manager within the next meeting. But this 50 years old project manager is one of those arrogant people that think he can't be wrong. Thus, instead of rewarding the young architect, the project manager lost his temper at the young architect screaming, "F**** YOU! F*** YOU! I've been an architect for 30 years! I've been doing this before you are even born! WHO THE F*** DO YOU THINK YOU ARE! F*** YOU! F*** YOU! F*** YOU!" He even threw things at him, then scream, "Get out of my office ! GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!" and continue the project as he originally intended and dismissed what the young architect presented as mere none sense.
Well, as a mere 21 years old junior designer working his first real job, and it is his very first year. There is no way this young architect is going to speak again. Why risk his career over this? He is lucky he didn't get fired. But the other senior architects that are more elderly are now aware of the situation. Now, when the building work starts and the project is not up to code, the architectural firm lost a bunch of money, the board and the investors and the shareholders are going to start asking questions, and then they discovered it is due to the project manager refusing to check with the code and when other architects inform him of the correct code, he just cursed right in their face.
It will be apparent to the shareholder who is at fault and who is to blame. So, they fired him this 50 years old, and since then, his reputation is ruin, and no firm wants to hire him again. Yet, even till this stage, this 50 years old still think he did no wrong (I can't even imagine what sort of lame excuse he can come up with to believe he did no wrong under the circumstances and it is all other people's fault.) Thus, how do you think that makes him feel when the shareholders hold him responsible and forced him to resign?
After his reputation is in ruin and no firm would hire him again, he starts working for his own construction company, mostly buying old houses to knock down and rebuild and sell. But old habits die hard. Like so many arrogant people, he will not learn from his experience and still didn't check the building code before building a new house. This worked fine for a first-year or two until he again comes across a situation where the place he creates is not up to code. The neighbor is angry because it intruded on his privacy and informed the city government. In court, despite the judge decided that there is no need to tear down the house, this 50 years old architect needs to pay the neighbor compensation., He still thinks he did no wrong. He is furious at the judges' decision. And consider this is the second time something like this happens in his professional career, you can imagine how angry he will get. Thus, arrogant people tend to be angry people, and the older they get, the angrier they get. They develop a victim mindset, thinking the entire world is doing them wrong, making them very angry and upset.
Furthermore, because fixed believers will evaluate everything in a manner in coalition with their fixed beliefs, they can construct many things for them to be angry about through their imagination. They will spend months or even years putting on with BS that only exist within their imagination until their capability to put up with BS has reached its maximum capacity and is now reaching a boiling point. For example, suppose a Fix Believer's fix belief is that you send him/her death threat. In that case, it doesn't matter what you do. They are going to think you are threatening them. They are going to evaluate it as you are threatening them, even if you did nothing. They will think you are threatening them by merely living in the same suburb as them. If you walked past them in a supermarket, they are going to believe you are sending them a message with your eye say, "I am going to slice your throat." It doesn't matter what you do. They are going to think you are threatening them.
Thus, fix believers frequently got much to be angry about. The only problem is that it is all in their imagination and some Fix Believers obviously belong in a mental institution, they are a danger to themselves and to others.
Furthermore, many arrogant people go their sense of arrogance from a sense of superiority complex, thinking they are superior to others, which helps to further fuel their arrogance. That superiority complex frequently leads to a sense of Messiah complex. This is something experts refer to as othering. Othering is all about constructing a you vs. me situation. Those that are identified as the "us" are symbols of good, mature, competent, and adult. The others are symbolized as evil, immature, incompetent, and child. This makes the "us" Messiah and the others be either the victim that needs your protection or the villain. Messiah is frequent in action movies. For example, in the Metrix, Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, a Messiah-like character that saved the day. Messiah-like people do exist in real life, for example, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Nelson Medulla, and Gandhi. However, being an actual Messiah and suffering from the Messiah complex are two completely different things.
Actual messiahs are great men and women that through their contribution, help lead people through adversary, whether it is through their leadership (e.g., Lincoln and Gandhi) through their invention, through their work (e.g., Doctors without borders), or through financial contribution (e.g., actor Leonardo Decaprio, is well known for his charity work.) People with Messiah Complex, on the other hand, contribute to nothing. Instead, they build up an imagination regarding what other people are like, usually either the villain or the innocent victim who needs the Messiah's protection and what they are like, the Messiah here to save the day. By doing so, they build up in their mind for themselves to be the symbol of the good, adult, and just and the others to be evil, child, and unjust. And then started screaming, "Messiah to the rescue!" The only problem is that it is all in their head. Like most Fix Believers, they evaluate everything in a manner in coalition with their belief via looking for an example and constructing opinion in favor of their faith and ignore all else.
The best example is once again regarding the BLM riots. The Democrat Party and their supporters fantasy the President to be a racist and they are the Messiah here to save the day even though the Trump administration did more for the African American community since JFK.
These people are so desperate to be the Messiah; they will grab onto anything that can help them fulfill their Messiah fantasy. This is likely attributed mainly to Mayors, allowing widespread rioting and looting by BLM and Antifa.
Suppose today a pro-rape group accused the legal justice system of being racist to black people for throwing black men in prison for raping 13 years old white girls. In that case, some of these Democrat mayors suffering from Messiah Complex may support the pro-rape group also.
Because their Messiah Complex dictates that the President is a racist, and they are the anti-racist Messiah here to fight against the evil racist President. And like most Fix Believers, they will look for example and construct opinion in favor of their belief and ignore all else.
So, when the pro-rape group starts their lobbying, the only thing they are going to hear is "Black people get thrown in prison" and lost all common sense regarding "rape is bad." And construct the opinion to say this is discriminating against blacks and black people getting thrown in prison unfairly.
Many Democrats, supporting groups, demonstrate this distorted mindset within the past year, and it is usually the Baby Boomers acting this way. For example, Senator Kamala Harris (born 1964) refers to the rioting and looting to be an inspiring fight for racial justice that must continue.
Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert (born 1964) actively condemn the police for not arresting a 17 years old boy that shot at rioters, with many rioters point to the police saying he is the shooter. Even though the police saw what happened and saw the boy only opened fire in self-defense, a mob of angry rioters was chasing after him. Concerned for the boy's safety, the police use a loudspeaker telling the boy to quickly enter his home and lock the doors. Colbert also condemns the police for accepting help from a civilian volunteer group to maintain law and order. Despite the civilian group act in highly ethical and professional conduct. The only reason the police received civilian volunteers' help is that they are overworked and understaffed to deal with the nightly riot because the DA refuses to prosecute the rioters. National guards are denied access to reinforce the police.
It would be a further issue when people like this are in a state of power. If you are going to stay working in this organization, you better play by their rule. Thus, usually, when an entire organization is corrupt, it starts from the top. Thus, when the media executive that supports the Democrat also lives with such delusion, only two people remain in the organization. The first is those who also got such delusion. The others keep their mouth shut to keep their job. There will also be those within the organization fed up with this BS and quit.
Once again, President George W Bush marginalized Middle Eastern experts, and replacing them with head-nodding yes men, is the perfect example.
However, President Bush is still one of the better ones. By the end of his Presidency, President Bush acknowledges he screwed up big time, even writing a book reflecting on his mistake during his eight years in office. Late-night talk show host Dave Latterman was still joking, saying, "This will be a very long book."
Thus, more often than less, people with Suerpiroty Complex, especially those suffering from Messiah Complex, are a burden to society. They are like those crazy people that hear a voice in their head and think they are speaking to god, telling them that the President is the Anti-Christ and needs to be killed and try to assassinate the President. And some suffering from Messiah Complex and Superiority Complex is a danger to themselves and others. It can even be argued that Messiah Complex should be recognized as a form of mental disorder. Those who conduct acts of violence, threat, danger, or harm upon others, as a result, should be locked away in an asylum for the criminally insane, where they can live out their Messiah Complex in a straitjacket.
And it should go without saying those suffering from Messiah Complex are likely to be furious people because they will construct a lot of things, based on their imagination, for themselves to be angry about. And if they got so mad that they suffered from a stroke or a heart attack and die, the world will be a better place.
However, the unusually high ratio of arrogant people from our parents' generation, including those suffering from Messiah Complex and Superiority Complex, also, allow young people the opportunity to take up senior leadership role earlier.
On the one hand, having so many people in their 50s and 60s who are arrogant or suffering from Messiah Complex means many corrupt, incompetent, irresponsible, and lazy political leaders and childish beyond their year, creating mayhem. For example, mayors that are enabling rioters and looters to destroy the city. Taking bribes from the Chinese Communist Party to betray their own country. (Something that even some Chinese people find disgusting) Incompetent leaders that screw everything up and blame everybody else for their mistakes and so on.
In two survey questions, this article asked whether they vote for an 18 or 19 years old teenager with no experience over the current Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler or Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Until this article's publication, the responding answer including
- those that rather vote for the teenager,
- those who will decide after looking at the teen's merit, and
- those that would move to another city.
But none said they would vote for Lightfoot or Wheeler.
Also, arrogance means a high ratio of people from our parent's generation, simply doesn't have the level of wisdom somebody their age is supposed to have. Normally, regarding wisdom, the majority of people regarding 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 years old and so on, would have the mental wisdom of their age, with a small majority mature beyond their age and a small majority immature below their age. However, by being the arrogant generation and furthermore the generation with many suffering a Messiah Complex, it means that the majority of people from our parents' generation, are immature below their age and only a small majority got the level of wisdom, somebody their age is supposed to have.
It shouldn't be an over-exaggeration estimation, at their current age of been in their 50s and 60s, the majority of people from this generation only got a level of maturity and wisdom half their age. Meaning, at the age of 60, that is the wisdom of only 30 years old and at the age of 50, that is only 25 years old's mindset. The oldest of our parents' generation currently age 69 most of them got the maturity of only a person age 34 and a half.
Thus, the majority of people from our parent's generation so incompetent, childish, corrupt, and irresponsible. It allows many younger people, the opportunity to get into senior leadership roles before their age and within the last five years, we see a steady increase of young senior leaders, especially in the political arena. Senior positions have traditionally been held by people in their 50s or 60s, and maybe a few in their 40s, are now more and more been held by people as young as in their early 30s.
Also, arrogance means a high ratio of people from our parent's generation doesn't have the level of wisdom somebody their age is supposed to have. Usually, regarding wisdom, most people regarding 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 years old and so on, would have the mental wisdom of their age, with a small majority mature beyond their age and a slim majority immature below their age. However, by being the arrogant generation and the generation with many suffering a Messiah Complex, most people from our parents' generation are immature below their age, and only a small majority got the level of wisdom somebody their age is supposed to have.
It shouldn't be an over-exaggeration estimation; at their current age of been in their 50s and 60s, the majority of people from this generation only got a level of maturity and wisdom half their age. Meaning, at the age of 60, that is the wisdom of only 30 years old, and at the age of 50, that is only 25 years old's mindset—the most senior of our parents' generation currently at age 69. Most of them got the maturity of only a person age 34 and a half.
Thus, most people from our parent's generation are so incompetent, childish, corrupt, and irresponsible. It allows many younger people to get into senior leadership roles before their age. Within the last five years, we see a steady increase in young senior leaders, especially in the political arena. People have traditionally held senior positions in their 50s or 60s, and maybe a few in their 40s. These posts are now more and more been held by people as young as in their early 30s.
For example, the white house press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany (born 1988) is only 32 years old. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern (born 1980) was only 36 when first elected and only turned 40 this year, where she got re-elected for a second term. Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin (born 1985) is currently only 35 years old. French President Emmanuel Macron (born 1981) was only 39 when he first took office. Austria Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (born 1986) was only 31 years old when first elected as Chancellor and re-elected for a second term at 34. Nayib Bukele become the President of El Salvador at the age of 39 (born 1981) And last but not lease, Artem Novikov (born 1987), former Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, also took office as Acting Prime Minister this year at the age of 33.
The reason for such an overwhelming number of arrogant people from those born in the 1950s and 1960s, including those with Messiah Complex, is largely contributed to this generation been sucked up to by the entire economy their whole life.
The Baby Boomer generation sees the highest birth rate in recorded human history. The Baby Boomers soon become an economic goldmine. History proves that if you can tab into the Baby Boomer market, you will make money. For example, MacDonald becomes a major success when the Baby Boomers were teenagers, and now it is senior insurance that is making the big buck.
This means this generation has been sucked up to their entire life. The media has long learned that a single ad targeting a baby boomer will make a lot more money and movie targets at this generation are most profitable. As a result, for example, when Baby Boomers were children and young teens, we see shows such as "Lost in Space" where it is always the twelve years old youngest kid of the family that saved the day (the Messiah.) When the Baby Boomers were teenagers, we see many teen heroes movies, such as Back to the Future and the Last Star Fighter. In the 80s sitcom, a young Michael J Fox played a high school teen with the maturity and academic wisdom of college standard. When the Baby Boomers were in their 20s and 30s, we start seen shows such as Melrose Place, and as they reached the Middle Age, it is all about trashing the next generation. For example, in Australia, we see the show "World's strictest parents."
In some of these shows, we also see the Baby Boomer character been alleviated the Messiah status and sometimes too unrealistic. For example, within the last starfighter, it takes years of training to become a fighter pilot, and only a handful of cadets graduated. Able to graduated from fighter pilot school is more challenging compare to graduating from college. Yet, within the movie, a teenager that never even step into a cockpit once can single-handed take on an entire enemy fleet, with only one fighter, after getting the top score in an arcade game that simulates the fighter.
Having their ego been sucked up to their whole life, for many Baby Boomers, it gets to their head.
Been told that since they are children, it becomes something that makes these Baby Boomer feel so good about themselves. Some started refusing to believe otherwise. It is like, you been told you are the prettiest girl your whole life, and then you get to high school and discover that isn't true...ouch, that hurt. Some Baby Boomers go into denial. Thus, Fix Believe emerged, and through such Fix Believe, a sense of othering emerged, leading to Superiority Complex, which leads to Messiah Complex.
Thus, we now got a generation of old people dominated by arrogance and suffering from Superiority Complex and Messiah Complex. For some, it has gotten so bad; they should seek psychological help. In some instant, maybe the only place they should be living out their Messiah Complex fantasy is in a mental institution, wearing a straitjacket.
Thus, we see a generation dominated by stubborn, lazy, corrupt, irresponsible, childish, and incompetent. When you put these people in charge, you will see disaster, and it has been increasingly the case within the last 20 years, where things keep getting worse.
A further issue with the Baby Boomer generation's arrogant nature is developing bad habits that further undermine their capability. This is because old habits die hard, and when you are accustomed to doing things a certain way and not do things a certain way.
Many baby boomers spend a lifetime training themselves to be irresponsible and forcing themselves to not act responsibly. After 50~60 years, it has gone to an extent where some are incapable of being responsible.
Martial art is an excellent example of such. Been in a fight is about acting upon reflex, to do as deem fit. There is no time to think. Thus, regardless of soldiers or martial art dojo, it is all about training students to do things on reflex, to become a part of your muscle memory. This frequently becomes a problem with punching based martial art such as boxing. Many boxing instructors talk about how the human fist is fragile. The fingers and wrist contain many little bones that are easily fractured. Part of the reason boxers wear gloves is to protect their wrist and fingers. In a street fight, you need to attack soft targets such as noes, stomach, throat, chick, and eye. Avoid hard targets such as the chin or forehead. Otherwise, you risk the possibility that your opponent who got punch is fine, but you dislocate your wrist or break your fingers' bones. However, most boxers who train for health or fight in the ring got no need for such consideration because they are wearing boxing gloves. But once they got into a street fight without gloves, those same practices that work in the ring become bad habits in a street fight. And old habits die hard, especially in a situation where you got no time to think and need to rely on your muscle memory.
Dance techniques can frequently translate into martial art technique. For example, ballet dancers are ideal to be trained in TKD. But many good habits for dance are bad habits as a fighter. For example, dancers are supposed to be soft, graceful, and elegant. Fighters need to have an attack that is fast and strong and well-disciplined. The two contradict each other, and for many ballet dancers learning a martial art for the first time, it is hard to change their habits. Also, dancers are accustomed to acting according to pre-set choreograph, while a fighter, do as they deem fit, on instinct. Changing from one habit to another is usually tricky. Interestingly, some martial artists that become action movie actors also find it difficult to transit to fight however they want, to fighting following a pre-scripted choreographed fight scene.
This is also why, when learning a second language, most people got a foreign accent. This is because you are so accustomed to speaking in a certain way, via your first language. Interestingly, I've seen westerners that grew up in Asia, and when they speak English, they got a bit of a Chinese accent in it because, despite being a native English speaker, they spoke Chinese their whole life, way more compare to English and old habit die hard. So, their English, despite fluent, always got a bit of a Chinese accent. Some native Chinese speaker that grew up in the west called the same problem while speaking Chinese and their Chinese got a bit of English accent.
Due to their Messiah Complex, most Baby Boomers spend their life training themself to act following a set of bad habits. And after 50 or 60 years, you can't unlearn 50 years of training at a moment's notice. It is why we frequently discover. The older these people are, the worse they get. Because they spend 50 years training themselves to do things the wrong way, to be lazy, to be irresponsible, to be stubborn, to think it is everybody else's fault, and so on. It is like somebody that smokes five packs of cigarettes a week since he is 17, now all of a sudden, you want him to quit smoking at 57 due to fear of lung cancer. It is not easy. You tell a guy accustomed to eating fatty food to change his eating habit after 40 years due to heart disease risk. That is a tough thing to do. Thus, for most arrogant people, the older they get, the worse they get.
As a result, these people got horrible problem solving skills and is completely useless in an emergency, because they are not able to unlearn a life time of bad habits.
I've seen cases such as Baby Boomers suspect there is an immediate emergency danger, such as a child drawn in the pool. Instead of going check it ASAP and if it is true, get the child out of the pool, decide to make a phone call to tell somebody to come over and check and when not able to contact other people, just go back to watch their soap opera! Later, when it turns out there really is a child drawn in the pool, blame other people for it, because they didn't answer her phone call, to tell them to come to check if a child is drowning in her backyard pool! (I got no kids right now. But I can tell you right now if I got a child. I am not going to let a Baby Boomer babysit my kids.)
Unfortunately, this is not the first time in history where a generation dominated by arrogant people, many suffering from Messiah Complex, create a disaster. The last time this happened, 100 years ago leads to WW1 and later the rise of Hitler and WW2 and the rise of the Soviet Union and the Cold War, Its effect remains to date with China still under Communist Party rule and North Korea under Communist rule.
It was another generation of arrogant leaders. After spending most of the last 1000 years in ultra 3rd world status, the sudden rise of the west with the success of the industrial revolution increasingly lead to an arrogant generation. In this instance, it is the idea of racial superiority. Its influence remains to date. For example today we frequently think of modernization to be westernization. However, once we study history objectively, we realized that is far from the truth. For example, there are many things, we credit to be pure western innovation, that is actually passed to the west, from the none west. For example, the university system is of Egyptian origin, dated back to the 13th century. The civil servant examination system is from the Chinese, first introduced during the 5th century. Western medicine is actually Arabic medicine, passed to the west during the Age of Enlightenment. Real western medicine died with the fall of the Roman Empire. Firearms are of Eastern origin, including cannons, pistols, and rockets. The earliest pistol discovers by archaeology dated back to the 13th century and is found in Manchuria.
The arrogance of this generation of leaders is more in association with race. The concept of "White Race is the Master Race" an idea that has been toyed around in European culture for a while, the first origin from the Christian concept of Christian is superior, written in the bible, claiming all not from Christ is the evil demonic thing from the Anti-Christ. And follow by Europe's sudden rise to power due to the success of the industrial revolution, an arrogant generation emerged among those born under such success. The idea of thinking they are a member of the superior race isn't enough, these people want to prove their own ethnic group is the most superior and started looking for an excuse to start a war, leading to the rise of WW1, In the aftermath of WW1, these people still refuse to learn their lesson and try to cripple Germany, leading to the rise of Hitler, which led to WW2 and the allies force to having join forces with the Soviet Union, leading to the rise of Communism after WW2, which led to the Cold War and China, North Korea, and Vietnam fall to Communist rule. It took our grandparent's generation and great grandparent's generation over 50 years to clean up this mess and to date, still not fully resolved.
Yet, 100 years later history repeats itself, another generation dominated by arrogant people creating chaos and mayhem and continue to get worse every year. Based on the US and international history along. The Bush Administration was been stubborn that lead to the war in the Middle East can't be resolved and at the same time, an economic meltdown back home. By the Obama administration war in the Middle East might have stabilized and defeated ISIS is just a matter of time. However, by this time, the greatest challenge was the Tea Party movement in Congress. Among Republican Party Congressmen there was a great division among the older and younger generation, the older generation those from our grandparent's generation was willing to work with the President in bipartisan to help save the US economy. The younger generation that was our parent's generation wasn't interest in the welfare of the nation, they just wanted to veto anything the President proposed, to make the President look bad. Then House of Representative leader, even try to avoid drawing attention to himself, when meeting the President in the White House, to discuss legislation to revive the US economy. By the Trump administration, this is an era where Baby Boomers are now the heavyweight influence, despite President Trump born in 1945, is still one of the youngest from our grandparents' and great grandparents' generation (born 1900~1949.) What President Trump faced in an army of arrogant, baby boomers that lived in their own fantasy land imagining themselves as the Messiah and try put all sorts of negative labels they think of and imagine the President to be such, whether it is Neo-Nazi, White Supremacists and so on. The majority of the mainstream network are Democratic supporters and now with our grandparent's generation retired and our parents' generation taking over as the Executive, all ethics flew out the window, and "fake news" is the norm. The Trump administration itself face the further issue of Baby Boomer idiocracy and during the administration an overwhelming firing, of course, it should important to note, many of those been fired by the Trump government are also that of younger, although being from the older generation, you expect them to be of a higher standard, with a significantly lower rate of getting fired. During the four years, it starts with the Russian Russian collusion conspiracy despite no evidence and the only circumstantial evidence they got was Trump-like Putin and is only satisfied after a two years FBI investigation and then it is followed by a Congress impeachment attempt. And then it was a COVID-19 crisis, resulting in over 79.8 million death worldwide, something that can completely be avoided if the World Health Organization be bothered to do its job. Instead, the WHO chose to favor the Chinese Communist Party over their own responsibility and provided the international community with highly flawed information, resulting in most countries been highly underprepared, Taiwan one of the leading country in dealing with COVID-19, when been asked, revealed their principle is "Don't trust anything the WHO say." and used their own team of experts instead. When President Trump, decided to pull funds out of the WHO as a result. In stereotypical Baby Boomer generation fashion, the response of WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom (born 1965) is that the President's hand fills with blood and accused the US President of politicalizing the virus, showing no remorse what so ever, for how his responsibility failure leads to the death of millions.
During the mid of the COVID-19 pandemic COVID-19 riots and looting broke out, have been accusing Trump of being a racist for four years, Democrat mayors throughout the US, allowed BLM and Antifa rioters to continue to loot and riot throughout the US, destroying public property, robbing local businesses, even threaten residential neighborhood, using fighting for racial justice as an excuse and while doing it, probably help to further spread COVID-19 rate, throughout the US. Just as we think Baby Boomer political leader, cannot sink any lower. Even during a time of pandemic with over 18.8 million American dead, Congress refuses to work in bipartisan with the President, in the hope to advance their career, by making the President look bad and presented a most absurd COVID-19 relief package over 5000 pages long to ask the President to sign.
As the BLM rioting and looting continues, Democrat mayors continue to refuse to allow the local police force to intervene, rather let the rioters and looters burn the city down. Democrat continues to insist on the rioting and looting to be peaceful protests, Senator Kamala Harris refers to it as inspiring and should continue even after the Presidential election. Some big business chose to support the rioting and looting, they think it can make them seem like people fighting for racial justice, considering they are using "fighting racism" as an excuse. Most mainstream media are Democrat supporters thus, become extremely selective in their representation and through the usage of Selective Representative try to push for a narrative in coalition with the idea that the President is a racist. viewers that only rely on selected mainstream media usually get a very constructed understanding of the situation.
Just when you think these Baby Boomers, can't sink even lower, by the 2020 election, there was a widespread report of election fraud, with multiple witness statements, including voting officials, many statistical anomalies, dead people voting, underage voting, people living not in the district voting, even house pet voting for Democrat candidate. Also, vote flipping where election voting machine flip vote from Trump to Biden. Recorded cases where vote observers were denied access to view the vote or put at a long distance, not possible to see the vote-counting process, voters reporting on hostile electoral officials bullying them to vote for Biden. All of these lead the President to conclude there must be intentional voter fraud taking place.
However, the pro-Democrat media was quit to accuse this as a baseless accusation in their headline, despite much circumstantial evidence. On the other hand, when the Democrat accused Trump of electoral fraud via Russian hacker four years ago, the only circumstantial evidence that the Democrats got was, Trump favor Putin. Pro-Democrat media refuse to report on any evidence that strongly supports the possibility of voter fraud, which can be argued to be sufficient to conclude somebody must be conducting fraud somewhere.
As a result, the President refuses to concede to defeat. In typical baby boomer fashion, they live in fix believe denial, so, if presented with this information, they will continue to claim that the accusation of voter fraud is baseless. This is Baby Boomer culture, if a Baby Boomer thinks somebody is a rapist, they will say that person is a rapist, even with all the evidence stack against it. If they think somebody isn't a rapist, even if presenting them with a video of him raping a girl, they will still say that video must be a fake. Because they are the arrogant generation, dominated by those suffering from Messiah Complex. And like most fixed believers they look for excuses to justify their belief. Now in their 50s and 60s, terms such as "Wisdom Comes with Age" and "I'm not 60 years old for shit!" or "I got 20 years experience" is their defense mechanism. However, that is only applicable when they are the older generation. Concerning those who are the older generation in comparison to them, those from the older generation in comparison to them, our grand parent's generation. The concept of "Wisdom Comes with Age" is no longer applicable. And well, in their 50s and 60s they still act like high school spoil teenagers angry at their parents for forcing them to go out and get a job. And still complain about their parent's because they didn't spend enough time, playing catch with them as a child. This article even saw a case where they refer to this as "neglected child," which in this article's opinion is disgusting. Your dad exhausted after a long day in the office and want to relax listening to his jazz records in the basement instead of playing catch with you, doesn't make you a neglected child. If your dad left you in the car, while he spends 8 hours in a casino make you a neglected child. In the US TV series Charmed, the show even portrays it as alright for the character Chris to violently assault his father Leo, for things of such nature. Evidence, the concept for Baby Boomers, the idea of "Wisdom Comes with Age, thus the elderly is right" only apply when they are the older generation, If they are the younger generation, it is all out the window and they start acting like spoilt brats and been the childish generation means, many are still acting like spoilt brats well into their 50s and 60s. Thus, further, explain the odd behavior of people from this generation, it is like a teenage girl screaming "I don't care, I am wrong you are wrong. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care" and then cover her ear and say "la la la la la la la!!!" The reason their action doesn't make sense to us, it is because we are treating them like the mature elderly adult in their 50s and 60s that they are. And normally, a 60 years old is supposed to be wise, similar to Yoda, even if he is a bad guy, Darth Vader is a bad guy, but still wise. But these are not sensible mature adults, and sometimes, it is even a teenage girl, stuck in the body of 60 years old. And in some cases, it is the high school Queen Bitch. Imagine it is kind of like a Freaky Friday type situation, where the teenage girl got stuck in a full-grown woman's body, and all of a sudden, all the irrational odd behavior we so frequently see among baby boomers suddenly make sense.
The thing is, the dealing with aggressive people is the most stressful of all. That is why most cops are ill temper and got high divorce rate. And sometimes passive aggressive people are even more dangerous, because you got no idea, what they are going to do and you cannot bash them up, because it isn't sufficient to constitute as self defense. Thus, sometime dealing with passive aggressive people is way more stressful and danger compare to dealing with actual aggressive people.
In the opinion of this article, some of these people suffering from Messiah Complex, obviously belongs in a mental institution, where the only place they should be living out their Messiah Complex is in a straitjacket, they are a danger to themselves and they are a danger to others. And if they conducted a criminal offense or otherwise an act of violence they should be send to a asylum for the criminally insane. And if that mean, a lot of nut houses with a lot of Baby Boomers been locked away inside it, then so be it. (and considering how this generation is conducting themselves, it won't be surprise to see more mental institution, then prison, as a result) And unless successfully appealed to a judge, remain in the nut house, until the doctor is satisfy that he/she is cured of his/her Messiah Complex.
Some other countries are more fortunate compare to the US, but it is not always perfect.
Australia's first Baby Boomer Prime Minister was Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (born 1957.) Unlike most Baby Boomers he is not some incompetent old fool that only knows to scream "I'm not 50 years old for shit!" and then screw everything up and blame everybody else for their mistake. In fact, under the policy of the Rudd government, Australia was the only country able to avoid the global financial crisis. But, nobody is perfect, when Rudd's policy regarding decreasing carbon footprint backfired, due to many small businesses hoping to take advantage of the scheme and instantly recruited many unqualified installers and resulting in the death of a few installers, it soon becomes the attack point of the opposition party. The problem with some nations that used the Parliamentary system to elect a Prime Minister to form a cabinet is that the political party or political party coalition, can changed the Prime Minister at will. Fearing the stories associate with the dead installer might cause them the next election, Rudd's own party voted him out of power and replaced him with his Deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, during Rudd's last year in office. Since then, Australia joined the Baby Boomer leadership, walking train wreck circus show. Australia might avoided the international economic crisis attributed to second mortgage, when George W Bush Junior was the US President, due to Rudd's then policy. But afterwards, Gillard initiate the carbon tax policy, as her policy to try created a greener nation. The policy didn't work and only drove up the cost of living dramatically. Since then, Australia economy start seen continue deterioration due to the increase in the cost of living means people are making less purchases and since then continue a negative cycle. During the Gillard era Australia also start seen yearly flood within the State of Queensland. However, under the Gillard government, the Federal government did nothing to help in the relief effort, despite the State of Queensland is Gillard's home state. With no help from the military or any other Federal institution or Federal funding, the Queensland State government took it to the media asking for public funding. Eventually the Gillard government did do a little in providing financial support, but wasn't sufficient to help the issue of yearly flood.
Despite Gillard was able to win a second term, after spending less then one year in office, however, it was a hung parliament that lasted for a long time, due to neither major party is able to hold the majority and a coalition with independent elected was needed. However the Gillard government popularity remain low and in Australia protests with slogan such as "Ditch the witch continue." Despite Rudd's dropping approval rating due to the death of the few home installer, was the main factor regarding to him been dumped by his own party and replaced by Gillard, when Gillard's own approval rating dropped below Rudd, she told the media that she doesn't care about rating. During her last year in office, Rudd again contested with Gillard and won back the Prime Ministership. Despite Australian people's over welcoming of Rudd's return and his policy was favor in Prime Minister debate, there was question regarding whether he will be able to serve the full three years term. Thus, the position fall to his opponent, Tony Abbott. During his two years in office, Abbot act as if he is the United States and brought Australia to the brink of war twice, during his first year in office, Russian Navy start luring on the outskirt of Australian water, this threat was only resolved, when US President Barack Obama visit Australia, warned Putin of the over twenty thousand US marines, station in Australia and send two warship from the Pacific fleet down to Australia. During his second year in office, he brought Australia to the brink of war over two drug smuggler. In a joint task force between Indonesia police and Australian Federal police, nine Australian trying to smuggle huge quantity of drugs from Indonesia into Australia was been arrested in Indonesia airport. Instead of thanking the Indonesia authority for the effort, the Abbot government came close to declaring war with Indonesia over the matter, due to the two ring leaders was sentenced to death, by Indonesia authority. The question soon become an racism issue, as it portray an idea of the civilized west that doesn't perform death penalty, against the savage none west that execute people, despite many western nation also got death penalty and many are more brutal compare to some none western nation. And it lead to the questioning, whether the Abbot government will still make such a big fuss out of this, if Indonesia is a western country? Abbot claim that the Australian people are disgusted in the media, despite many writing to their local parliament representative asking them to ask the Prime Minister to stop destroying Australia's relationship with Indonesia over two drug smugglers and some pointed out, Australian celebrated, when Indonesia authority arrested a terrorist that killed number of Australian in Bali and sentence him to death. The US declare it won't back Australia if Abbot insist on going to war with Indonesia over this. On the day of executing drug smugglers, the line facing the firing squad include drug smugglers from various nations, trying to smuggle drugs from Indonesia into their own country. Execution was called to a halt for one woman, as the further investigation of Indonesia authority prove, that she was been framed by a drug lord, also showing a level of dedication of Indonesia police to ensure, only true smuggler get executed. Furthermore, Abbott push for university privatization and decrease funding to higher education, pushing university tuition fee up dramatically, originally an Australia university cost around 1000~2000 Australia dollar per subject, now the tuition fee increase, varies with university, the prices can double or even triple.
By the third year, the wide spread displease towards Abbot, led his own party to finally replaced him with Malcolm Turnbull as Prime Minister. Turnbull unlike most Baby Boomers isn't arrogant, been a self starter successful businessman, he know better then to be an arrogant man. By this stage, Australia economic was on the brink of becoming a second world country, due to the policies of Gillard from years later. Under the Turnbull government the deterioration of Australia economy stop, but Turnbull wasn't able to recover the economy, only stop the deterioration. During Turnbull's first year in office, a further scandal emerged. A case of custody battle between an Australian mother and their father from Lebanon. Originally the Australian court award the custody to the mother, but on a trip to Lebanon, the father again file a custody battle in a Lebanon court and won the custody. What was suppose to be simple custody battle, got interesting, when the Channel 9 current affair show, chose to treated it as if a case of children been abducted by the Taliban and need to be rescue back to Australia. The channel's current affair, got a long history of targeting white supremacists as their audience base, to increase rating. The Channel 9 crew hired two ex Australian soldiers, to reach Indonesia with the children's mother with an entire news crew. They first lure away the father whom is a surfing instructor, with insisting on an early morning surfing class and when grandmother was taking the children to school, a van drove up, assaulted the grandmother, grabbed the children into the van and drove off. Police of Lebanon was called in, on the ground of kidnapping and follow by the arrested of the mother, the entire Channel 9 news team and the two Australian soldiers on kidnapping charges. The Lebanon father persuaded the prosecution to drop the charges against the mother. If this is during the Abbot government, this might be a third time, Australia is close to going to war, with the third different country, in three years. But Turnbull chose to do nothing about it. However, Turnbull's then Foreign Minister Juliet Bishop was still that of Abbott's Foreign Minister and insist on getting them out. Turnbull allow Bishop to do as she please, but expect no backing from the Prime Minister. Media that was originally angry at Abbott for almost leading Australia into a war with Indonesia over two drug smuggler, but was too afraid to speak against the Prime Minister, now is having a field day at the expense of Channel 9 news. Channel 9 news made a former apologize to the Australian public and got their people back only via paying massive fine to the Lebanon court system. When Turnbull resigned from the Prime Minister position, he recommended Scott Morris for the job. Morris like Turnbull, despite been a Baby Boomer, isn't an arrogant man. And Morris serve as Australia's Prime Minister till date.
In comparison to the US, Australia was lucky, only having to deal with the arrogant Baby Boomer circus show, for five years during the Gillard and Abbot era. However, the damage to Australia during the five years circus show, its effect on Australia cannot be fixed and all that Turnbull and Morris can do is stop things from getting worse, until hopefully someday, there will be somebody that can figure out a way to resolve the issue. Homeless rate in Australia saw steady increase, during the Gillard and Abbot era, some sources suggest it might still be increasing, by 5% per year.
The unusual high ratio of arrogant people, many even suffering from Messiah Complex continue to be the key factor of distortion within the last twenty years. And within the last twenty years, we see continue deterioration in all arenas, regardless of socially, politically and economically.
However, the shocking poor standard of many Baby Boomers, also allowed many young people to held senior political roles before their age. In 2017, thirty seven years old Jacinda Ardern (born 1980) was elected as the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Also in 2017 thirty one years old Sebastian Kurz (born 1986) becomes the Chancellor of Austria, despite winning the most seat in then Austria's parliament, Kurz's party didn't hold over half the seat and formed a coalition with minor parties, in 2020 he was re-elected at the age of thirty four, now holding majority seat in parliament. In 2019, thirty four years old Sanna Marin was elected as the Prime Minister of Finland and also leading the youngest cabinet, in known history.
It is a naive optimism to expect things to get better. It is important to remember, among the Baby Boomer those who are both ethical and competent are the minority. And until there are sufficient competent people from the younger generation to replace them and until the younger generation is able to replace the Baby Boomer generation, the expectation should be that we will be seen continue deterioration in all arena, regardless of socially, politically and economically and most likely going to be the trend, for the next 10 to 20 years. We should be expecting more cases of violent rioting and looting, election fraud, corrupt and violent political leaders, maybe even civil war. Possible further global pandemic shortly following COVID-19. We should be expecting to see more people loosing their job, increase crime rate, including violent crime such as drive by shooting, murder and rape. We can expect to see more cases of innocent people in prison with corrupt DA twisting facts to advance their career. We should be prepare for more politicians selling out their own country to China, in exchange for cash. We can expect to see steady increase in homeless rate and continue increase in the cost of living, but not in wages. We can expect to see more case of rioters terrorize neighborhood, more family own small businesses been looted and politician that not only won't deter the rioters and looters, but instead turn against those trying to protect their own business against the rioters and looters. For example, in response to looting and rioting, in the US, some business put up bar fences and was soon disallowed by the local governments.
Having younger generation replace the Baby Boomer might not always be the answer also. The Baby Boomers didn't set the standard very high. Thus, just because you can make a better mayor compare to a Baby Boomer, doesn't necessarily mean you are a qualify mayor. For example, actress/singer Selena Gomez can make a better mayor compare to Lori Lightfoot, simply by allowing the police to do their job and ensure pressure prosecutor to do their job, considering Lori Lightfoot didn't set the bar very high. But it not necessarily mean Gomez is able to be good enough of a mayor to be consider having a passing grade, considering the fact, Lightfoot got a failing grade as a mayor and same applies to the majority of Baby Boomer generation leaders, they are receiving a failing grade. Just because you can do a better job, compare to most baby boomer, not necessarily mean you are good enough for a passing grade.
