I was shocked to see the report of hundred of rioters on TV. But as a journalist myself, I soon found something doesn't add up and decide to start doing some digging.
The more I dig into it, the more shocking I found.
After reviewing numerous primary sources, including footage what I found is. The hundred of rioters narrative, is completely false.
Instead what happened was (1) there was only a few dozen rioters, most seems to be paid agitators. (2) And the Capitol Hill Police choosing to continue opening up restricted area to the public, including inside the congress building and even the assembly hall. and that resulted in (3) hundred of tourists, Due to the fact there are already millions of Trump supporters gathering, it resulted in hundred and thousand of people choosing to visit the site, when they walked by Capitol Hill and saw those sites opened to the public. There are raw footages of people seen site that are normally close to the public now open, went up there to look around, some take a few photos and then left.
The so call, hundred of rioters, most of them are actually tourists, while the ones that are actually rioting, is only a few dozen. Even from the media, when reviewing all its images, you discover, you never actually saw hundred of people trying to storm Capitol Hill, only a few at most two or three dozen. You do see hundred and thousand of people in restricted area, including inside the Capitol Hill building, many are very happy or very peaceful, they are cheering or just walking around and look around, but you never saw hundred and thousand of people storming Capitol Hill. (Even regarding those image of people climbing up the wall, seem to be trying to trespass. Base on later footage, it was found, all of that happened, after the area has already been opened to public by Capitol Hill Police. And the image of people breaking windows, it was only a few people less then half a dozen.
Below are some primary footage that support the claim
1. Congressmen's statement, he was in his office when this whole thing was going down, he said he saw officers opening up area that are suppose to be restricted, including opening up the inside of Capitol Hill to the public. Some officers were even taking selfies with the people that entered. Riot police was even helping to push the crowd through the door and get inside the Capitol Hill building
2. These two following videos below are taken by people that was actually there that day, they like many people was walking towards Capitol Hill that day after Trump's speech. There was a lot of street vender, on the road to Capitol Hill, selling food. After reaching Capitol Hill, they realized apart from not able to go inside the Capitol Hill building, the entire outer area of the Capitol Hill building is open to public (originally it was all sealed off, people can go as far as been across the street from Capitol Hill) So, they climb up the stairs to be able to have a look, there was a lot of people going up the right side of the stairs and a lot of people going down the left side of the stairs. Once up there, there was a lot of people up there, most just looking around, sitting around having a good time, as if they are a bunch of tourist reaching a tourist destination. A small group gather at the golden front door of the Capitol Hill building, demanding to go in. The crowd grew larger, number in 30 ~40. But no larger then that. The camera show a few guys trying to climb the wall, but the area was already open to public, so it wasn't trespassing. The video realized the police from inside throwing tear gas at the crowd of 30~40, not sure why, considering the door was shut and they weren't trying to knock the door down. In addition, those tear gas was obviously defective. The fiancée of the man that was holding the camera soon said that the tear gas doesn't seem to be working. As they were leaving, the fiancée said she saw a guy breaking down a window.
3. In this video, the program host also show some footage from the so call riot. And it show images of the police opening up restricted area to the public, this took place, before the two videos above. Considering, before the police opening up the area, the area that the people in the 2 video above visit, was sealed off from the public. The officer holding the camera even wave his hand to the public signal them are able to come in. As a result, a lot of people that was originally behind the fence, walked through the fence towards Capitol Hill.
4. This interview seem the oddest of all, According to a French reporter. On the day where there are 15 million people in Washington DC, instead of giving more security, Capitol Hill Police decide to give officer the day off, keeping only a skeleton crew. When officers heard of the riot on TV and rushed back to work, their supervisor tell them to go home. In addition, the French network also saw the oddest thing and that is, after they open up the first barrier to public, a group of rioters gather on the stairs, with police not letting them pass. But the original police below the stairs, are not helping the police officers on the stairs, instead they are just standing around talking among themselves on ground floor. It almost seem as if they are just putting on a show for the camera.
Based on available information, it almost seem as if the whole thing is staged. Considering Washington DC is currently run by the Democrats, it seem they keep a skeleton crew all loyal to the Democrats, to be able to put on a show of Trump rioters, going up against the police and then the police get overwhelmed, due to the Trump supporting rioters number in hundred and thousands. So, the few dozen rioters and a number of police, at some occasion outnumbered, but other times, obviously sufficient to deal with them, try to hold them for a while, but then move back. And then other officers opened the area to the public. The majority of the public didn't know this is suppose to be a no go zone, become tourist travelling to locations that are suppose to be off limits. And when those suppose to be off limits area are dominated by hundred of tourists, the media play the narrative of hundred of Trump supporters riot and try to storm Capitol Hill. First showing the image of those only a few dozen of rioters going against the police and later showing the image of hundred of people at restricted area. Some media independent network already realized it is odd at some instance, the so call rioters seem like a guided tour group entering the Capitol Hill building
To be successful, the Capitol Hill police need to only have a skeleton crew on duty that day, because most officers won't stand for something like this. But not all officers are in on it and that lead to certain officers been injured, including one dead officer and four dead protesters. The reason is that, Capitol Hill police got too many dedicated officers, protecting the Congress of America, these cops need to be the most dedicated of all, so it is hard to buy off all of them, so not all within the skeleton crew is in on it. This will also explain why image from the so call rioters within the building, once not confronting police, they are just standing around and looking around, because they are obviously just tourist, that chose to come in and look around, when coming across Capitol Hill and realized the inside of the building is open to public.
This sort of technique surprisingly is something the Chinese Communist Party do all the time. They frequently did it in Hong Kong, so to give the riot police an excuse to deal with protesters. They also try it in Taiwan, but Taiwan police are very good at figuring out who are the paid agitator of the Communist Party and who are real protesters and always catch them out.
There are also cases of paid agitators showing up in former Trump rallies or Blue Lives Matter rallies. However, due to those rally are smaller in size, they are only able to insert a few agitator and they always get caught out. This time due to over 15 million people, they can insert more agitator and without a clear leadership, it is hard to rally people to go up against a crowd as large as 30 or 40. When it is just 1 or 2, people kick them out very quickly, but when their crowd is larger, it is harder for a bunch of stranger to organize into a group large enough to kick them out.
Now having said above, take a look at the image of the rioters. Do we really see hundred of rioters. In all the images I re-exam after this, I discover, the rioters all number in a few dozens at most.
1. In this one...seriously, I am seen more cops then rioters
2. After carefully exam every footage within this video, no way there are hundred of people storming Capitol Hill. I can count a few dozen at most. And the most interesting thing is in one video, when a police officer got injured the crowd was soon to move back (originally trying to push their way through a door, while the cops push back) and give the officer some space.
3. The same with NBC, there are a lot of fast moving still images. With every image pause and look at it carefully, there are only a few people that are actually trying to break the line. Even in some cases there seem to be a line of Trump supporters trying to storm a line of police fence outside of Capitol Hill. Some of those image switch from one to the next very quickly. Pause with every image and look carefully, there are only a few people trying pulling the fence. The rest are just standing there. I even saw a woman walking the other direction, away from the fence, while the guy next to him is trying to pull through the fence and in one image in particular, once you paused. Literally nobody was trying to break the fence line. They are standing well behind it. But they stay on that image for so short, you don't have a chance to look at it clearly. But, once you click pause and look at it carefully, literally nobody is rioting. It actually reminds me of a rock star's outdoor life concert. They sometimes got a fence between audience and stage in case crazy fan. But there will be some audience that stand right up against the fence cheering.
After carefully reviewing all the information all I can say is, a couple hundred rioters? Seriously? No wonder people are calling fake news.
Currently over 50 people are arrested for the Capitol Hill Riot. But I won't be surprise if many of them in court later claim "They were invited into Capitol Hill" and there lawyers are able to provide evidence to prove it.
The only ones I can say for certain is the guy that took something out of Nancy Pelosi's office and the guy that took the Speaker of the House stadium. I won't be surprise many other people arrested, are going to be able to prove they were invited into the Capitol Hill building by the Capitol Hill police and if so, nothing will happen to them. And if that is the case, I won't be surprise they later sue CNN, MSNBC and NBC for defamation on a joint action sue, for calling them rioters and if they file that joint law suite I won't be surprise if they win.
